Accessibility.

We want everyone to be able to use this website — to read the menu, find us, book a table or plan an event. Here’s what we’ve built in, and how to tell us if something doesn’t work for you.

What we’ve built in

  • A “Skip to content” link as the first thing a keyboard reaches on every page.
  • One main heading per page, and page regions (header, navigation, main content, footer) marked up so screen readers can move between them.
  • Descriptive text for every meaningful image; purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • A visible focus outline on every link, button and form field when you use a keyboard.
  • A label on every form field, errors shown next to the field they belong to, and a spoken confirmation when a form is sent.
  • Movement reduced when your device is set to reduce motion.
  • The page language declared, and text that can be enlarged — zoom isn’t locked on phones.

How we checked

We checked every page of the site for the items above, and loaded every page at five screen widths, from a small phone to a desktop, to make sure nothing runs off the screen. We haven’t commissioned an independent accessibility audit, so we don’t claim formal conformance with any standard — if something gets in your way, we want to know.

Tell us

If any part of this website is hard to use, email info@barchinojc.com with the page and what happened. We’ll reply, fix what we can, and get you the information you were looking for in another way in the meantime.

In the restaurant

If you have an access need for your visit or your event, tell us when you book or email info@barchinojc.com, and we’ll do our best to make it work.
